  • 수업 포커스 :  
    사우스 캐롤라이나 대학 국제 학생 영어 교육원의 집중영어 프로그램은 수준 높은 지도와 쓰기/문법, 읽기,말하기/듣기를 중점으로 친절하고 개인을 고려한 서비스를 갖추고 있습니다.
     
    수업목표, 장점 :
    학생들은 매 학기초에 주어진 시험의 결과를 토대로 그들의 수업에 배치됩니다. 예정된 수업 외에 학생들은 주중에 국제 학생 영어 교육원의 컴퓨터 랩실(대학교의 컴퓨터 랩실도 가능)에 출입할 수 있습니다. 모든 학생들은 이메일 계정을 가지고 있으며 인터넷에 접속할 수 있습니다. 토플 준비는 정규 과목의 일부분입니다. 왜냐하면 수업들이 캠퍼스에서 열리고 국제학생 영어 교육원(EPI)의 학생들이 미국 학생들과 교류하고 학생들의 생활을 알 수 있게 되기 때문입니다.
     
    커리큘럼 :
    국제학생 영어 교육원(EPI)의 집중영어 프로그램은 국제학생들이 미국에서 대학에 들어가기 전에 그들의 영어 실력을 향상시킬 기회를 제공합니다. 또한 이 프로그램은 직업과 관련된 이유로 영어 실력이 필요한 개개인들에게 적합합니다. EPI는 국제학생들이 편안함을 느끼고 그들의 새로운 환경에서 성공하도록 돕기 위한 것입니다. 학급의 크기는 비슷한 영어수준의 학생들 12명에서 15명이 평균입니다. 6레벨의 실력은 초급부터 고급까지 개설되어 있습니다. 낮은 레벨은 가끔 섞여 있습니다(예시: 읽기/ 어휘 1& 2). EPI 선생님들은 섞여있는 레벨을 효과적으로 가르치기 위해 필요한 경험이 있고 훈련을 받습니다. 혼합된 학급에서 더 낮은 레벨의 학생들은 필요한 경우 추가 교육을 받습니다.

    수업시간 :
    수업은 월요일에서 목요일까지 오전 8시 40분부터 오후 5시까지 열리고 금요일은 8시 40분부터 오후 1시 10분까지 열립니다. 매일 열리는 3가지 수업(쓰기/문법, 읽기/어휘, 말하기/듣기)으로 매일 5개의 수업시간이 있습니다.

    캠퍼스 외부 숙소:

    EPI 학생들은 대부분 사우스 캐롤라이나 대학의 클리프 아파트에 머무릅니다.
     
    클리프 아파트는 두 명의 학생을 위한 공간으로 침실 욕실이 하나씩 있거나 네 명의 학생을 위한 공간으로 침실 두 개와 욕실 하나로 각 침실에는 두 개의 침대가 있습니다. 주방에는 가스레인지와 냉장고가 있습니다. 이 아파트에는 가구가 비치되어 있으며 전기, 수도, 시내전화가 되는 전화기, 인터넷 접속, 케이블 TV 요금들은 모두 클리프 아파트 비용에 포함되어 있습니다. 학생들은 침구류, 타월, 스탠드, 청소용품, 요리하고 먹을 때 쓸 부엌용품을 가져오거나 도착하자마자 사야 할 것입니다. 침구류는 도착하자마자 35달러에 살 수 있으며 베개, 베갯잇, 평평한 시트, 침대 아래 시트, 담요, 타월, 수건이 포함되어 있습니다.
     

    사우스 캐롤라이나 대학은 학생들이 캠퍼스 외부 숙소를 원할 경우 대학 캠퍼스 밖에서 살기에 적합한 장소(비용이 다름)를 어떻게 찾아야 할지 정보를 제공할 것입니다.

Q: 想請問如果我去念語言學校，是可以保證住宿呢? 還有就是我想問有哪些類型的住宿房間?? A:您好，感謝您的來信詢問。關於住宿的部分，有提供三種住宿型態。 校園內住宿公寓：靠近學校，靈活的租賃，一學期或多個學期的合同，很多學生住在附近 校外住房：長期租賃，通常是一年的合同，很多選擇公寓，別墅，或複合式公寓，學生通常住在南加州大學的克里夫酒店式公寓。 公寓內設有一間臥室和一間浴室，給兩個學生，或兩間臥室和一間浴室給四名學生每間臥室兩張。廚房設施包括爐灶和冰箱。這些公寓包含所有水電費用，本地電話服務，互聯網連接網路連接和有線電視服務。

在學校上課的整體感覺..整體我很喜歡，老師很親切，如果你有什麼不懂，老師會用最簡單的單字和肢體語言跟你解釋，讓你能很容易知道，學校也提供很好的學生休息室，給我們可以吃午餐及跟其他學生聊天，每一個月學校也會舉辦活動，讓我們去參加。

對於住宿的感覺，來這裡我最喜歡我的宿舍，宿舍餐廳的飯很好吃，而且宿舍常會舉辦有趣味的活動，室友人也都很好，只要他們有什麼活動，他們也會邀請我們，並帶我們一起參與，晚上一起吃飯聊天，雖然一開始聽不太懂，但久了英文會進步，也會有不同國家的室友，你們可以一起聊天一起交流不同的文化。

對於城市的整體感覺，這城市每個人都很熱情，走在路上路人會主動對你笑跟你打招呼，雖然在這裡物價都比台灣高，但這裡比起其他城市便宜很多，如果想要遊學又沒有很大筆的錢，南卡羅萊那大學是一個很好的選擇!!!

分享這次國外遊學跟最大的收穫
原本我一直煩惱，我的英文說得這麼爛，來到一個人生地不熟又語言不通的國家，只有我一個人沒有認識任何人，我該怎麼辦，直到我真的來到了這裡，我很慶幸有這機會自己也沒有放棄這個機會，來到這裡發現我之前所想的都是白擔心了，雖然英文很爛但只要你試著說加上肢體語言，別人都是聽得懂得，我收穫最大就是，不管想做什麼事，不要放棄，做就對了。踏出台灣才知道自己的不足，台灣有很多地方還沒這麼進步，這可能就是增進國際視野吧!!~~
