화이트워터 크리크(Whitewater Creek)의 백사장에서 이름을 딴 화이트워터(Whitewater)는 남부 케틀 모레인 주유림(Kettle Moraine State Forest)에 자리잡고 있습니다. 22개의 공원과 4개의 호수가 있습니다. 또한 식목일 재단에서 나무 캠퍼스로 인정한 UW-Whitewater의 본거지이기도 합니다. 오래된 참나무와 히코리, 자연 초원, 농지, 숲으로 둘러싸인 화이트워터는 자연을 사랑하는 사람들을 위한 축제입니다. 자전거 타기, 하이킹부터 보트 타기, 낚시까지 야외 레크리에이션이 부족함이 없습니다.

학교시설

위스콘신 대학교 화이트워터(University of Wisconsin-Whitewater)는 위스콘신 남동부의 400에이커 규모를 자랑합니다. 대학 캠퍼스의 상징적인 랜드마크인 Old Main은 1970년 2월 7일 화재로 소실되었습니다. 학교에서 가장 오래된 건물인 이 건물은 원래 캠퍼스의 일부였던 유일한 건물이었습니다. 현재 Hyer Hall이라고 불리는 Old Main의 동쪽 건물은 건물의 전부입니다. 여기에는 강의실과 강의실 외에도 대학의 행정 사무실이 많이 있습니다. Old Main을 파괴한 화재 이후 건물의 카리용 종은 제거되어 Alumni Center 앞에 설치되었습니다. 이제 전자 카리용 벨이 하루 종일 정기적으로 울립니다. James R. Connor University Center는 캠퍼스 중심부를 차지하고 있습니다. "UC"에는 볼링장, 미술관, 라이브 음악 무대, 커피숍 및 여러 레스토랑이 있습니다. 캠퍼스 최대 규모의 공연 예술 공연장인 Young Auditorium에서는 무용, 음악, 연극, 코미디 및 기타 대학 행사를 개최합니다. UW-화이트워터 자연보호구역(UW-Whitewater Nature Preserve)은 캠퍼스 북동쪽 모퉁이에 위치하고 있으며 삼림 지대, 습지, 초원 등 다양한 생태계로 이루어진 110에이커 규모의 캠퍼스입니다. 야외 교실 및 실험실 역할을 하는 것 외에도 보호구역에는 달리기, 하이킹, 크로스컨트리 스키 또는 자전거 타기를 위한 레크리에이션 트레일이 포함되어 있습니다.

UWW에서 가장 가까운 주요 공항은 Chicago O'Hare(차로 2시간)입니다. 시카고 오헤어에서 위스콘신주 제인스빌까지 매일 여러 대의 버스가 운행됩니다. 학생들은 위스콘신주 제인스빌에서 화이트워터까지 Lyft나 Uber를 이용할 수 있습니다.

밀워키의 General Mitchell 공항으로 비행기를 타고 갈 수도 있습니다. General Mitchell에서 Whitewater까지는 교통수단이 더 적습니다.
